Hotline Established to Handle Mortgage Issues and Questions       Λ top

Have a gripe about the mortgage industry or your lender? Get in line. Or better yet, get on the phone or go online to chat with someone who might be able to do something about it.

A new and lightly publicized hotline has been established by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to hear from people who are upset with or want to know more about their home mortgage. The system went live on Dec. 1 and the bureau reportedly hasn't said much about it because of the volatility and confusion surrounding mortgage issues. The complaint hotline is accessible online at www.consumerfinance.gov and by toll-free phone between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Eastern at (855) 411-2372. …
